For more than 20 years, the Monmouth County Board of Recreation Commissioners has recognized outstanding local park & recreation efforts, including volunteers, facilities, programs, parks and open space planning. These awards - open to all Monmouth County public and non-profit agencies - are presented at the annual Park & recreation Awards Dinner held each spring. If your town or agency had a noteworthy park, facility, program, staff person, volunteer or open space initiative in 2007, please consider submitting an award nomination (to be presented at the Spring 2008 Annual Dinner).

*NOTE: The Ross W. Maghan Award for Exemplary Park Maintenance is judged separately from the other awards. Applications for this year's Maghan Award were mailed out on June 2, 2007. The deadline was Friday, June 29, 2007.
HOW TO APPLY
Award applications have been mailed out to municipal recreation directors, township administrators and mayors. You can also download a 2008 application (with instructions) below.
2008 Awards Application
Anyone can submit a nomination. Winners will be notified in early April, and the awards ceremony will be held in late April. If you have any questions, please feel free to call (732) 842-4000 and ask for either Jim Foligno at extension 4242 or Susan Walsh at extension 4256.
