League Tee Times

Our Fall League session begins on Wednesday, August 21.  Registration is underway and continues until August 7.  The program number is T1393A. Please register here.  Schedule to follow.

League Outline:

The Women’s touring league is a competitive 10 weeks of stroke play qualifying rounds followed by four rounds of match play.  League rounds will be played twice at Charleston Springs North (2), Charleston Springs South (2), Hominy Hill (2), Howell Park (2), and Shark River (2).

Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place league winners. Participants must have a USGA Ghin handicap and a Monmouth County Golf ID Card. An entry fee of $325 covers all greens fees and season ending prizes, for power carts: applicable cart fees apply.

Tee times:
Consecutive tee times will be assigned randomly starting each week at 10 a.m.  Tee times will be provided before the first week for the entire 10 week season. A copy of the tee time schedule will be posted on this page.

All matches will be played from Red tees.

Maximum handicap of 30. If your handicap is more than 30 it will be reduced to 30. Based on your handicap index, the appropriate course rated handicap will be used for the stroke play and match play rounds.  Course handicaps will be displayed on the score card before each round. The score cards will be handed out on the morning of play.

Weekly scoring is calculated by taking your gross score minus the course rated handicap to get your weekly net score.  Your weekly net score will be used for qualifying rounds. Weekly league scores/rankings will be emailed out as well as posted to this webpage after each week.

After the 10 weeks of stroke play qualifying rounds the lowest 8 weeks (out of the 10) of net scores will determine the top 16 players to move to the match play portion of the league.

Once your group gets to the first tee, please switch your score card with another player as scoring will be done by an opponent and vice versa.  Score cards must be signed and attested then handed back to the Golf Center staff after each match for calculation of gross and net scoring.

Posting to the Ghin handicap system will be done by Monmouth County Park System staff for all matches. Please do not post your own score to avoid double postings. We appreciate your cooperation.

USGA rules govern all play. Local Rules:

Be on time - Players must get to the course ahead of their scheduled tee time and be ready to go.  It's important that golf league participants be on time for their scheduled tee times.

Play Ready Golf - Foursomes need to keep up with the group in front of them and should never be more than one shot behind. Players should play ready golf.

Lost Ball - To help avoid lost balls, all players in a group should be watching each other's shots. Three (3) minutes should only be spent looking for a lost ball.  If ball is not found drop a ball as near as to the point ball was deemed lost and take a two-stoke penalty.  Do not play stroke and distance.

Slow Play - League play must keep pace with groups in front.  If a player in your group is playing slow, let them know that they need to pick up the pace. The MAXIMUM SCORE on any hole is 4 over par. A player must pick up on any hole and take a 4 over par score

Provisional Ball - A player may hit a provisional shot if player thinks ball may be lost or out of bounds.  If ball is in bounds pick up provisional shot, with no penalty, and play original ball.

If no provisional shot is played and ball did go out of bounds or deemed lost, please play next shot from the approximate spot the ball went out of bounds or deemed lost, take a two-stoke penalty.   For speed of play reasons, do not return to the tee to hit another ball after searching for a lost ball.

If the Monmouth County Park System decides to close a golf course due to inclement weather, a match will be rescheduled; otherwise, the matches will be played rain or shine. If in doubt about the weather, please call the Golf Center.
