2.  How do I gain access to the tee time reservation system?

Automated tee time reservations and information are available by both telephone and the Internet. Call 732-758-8383 or go to www.monmouthcountygolf.org. Access to the System is included with the purchase of a Golf Card. All cards will include the cardholder's photo and must be purchased in person at a Monmouth County Park System golf course. Both the phone system and the internet reservation system will be available for use immediately.

The Reservation System offers a quick and easy way to reserve, review, modify, or cancel advanced reservations at Charleston Springs North and South, Hominy Hill, Howell Park, Bel Aire 18, Pine Brook, and Shark River golf courses, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Your access number is the number printed below the bar code on your card. Your pin # will be the last four digits of your social security number.

Advance reservations are available beginning at 8 p.m. seven days in advance. For example, tee times for Saturday become available the preceding Saturday at 8 p.m.

All unreserved tee times become available on the day of play as same-day reservations or walk-on times.
Walk-on times are set aside once an hour, on the hour, for twosomes, threesomes, and foursomes who do not use the Reservation System. Other unreserved times are available on a first-come first-served basis or as a same day reservation.

Bel-Aire 9-Hole Course does not accept advance reservations, as it is a walk on, first-come, first-served facility.

3.  How do I make a tee time reservation?

Tee times can be reserved for all Park System Golf Courses, including Bel-Aire 18-Hole Course, by using the Tee Time Reservation System. Tee times at Bel-Aire 9-Hole Course are only available on a first come, first served, walk-on basis. Golfers can access the System by phone by calling 732-758-8383 or, by visiting www.monmouthcountygolf.org. – a Golf Card is required to access the system.

4.  When can I make a reservation?

Advance reservations are available beginning at 8 p.m. seven days in advance. For example, tee times for Saturday become available the preceding Saturday at 8 p.m.

Tee times cannot be canceled or modified during the first 30 minutes after the system opens up each night. Golfers must cancel by 7 p.m. the night before day of play using the tee time reservation system to avoid incurring a penalty. The courses will not accept any cancellations. See our schedule of first and last tee times available for the 2014 golf season.

From 8-8:05 p.m., when a new block of Saturday and Sunday tee times becomes available, all morning tee times up until 12 noon are randomly distributed.  This assures a fair distribution of prime, early morning times.  At 8:05 p.m., any unreserved early times remain in the pool for claiming on a first come, first served basis.
All unreserved tee times become available on the day of play as same-day reservations or walk-on times.

Same-day reservations are available beginning two (2) hours after the first tee time of the day, and can only be made a minimum of 90 minutes in advance. For example, if the first tee time of the day is 7 a.m., the first available same-day reservation is 9:10 a.m. (The 9 a.m. tee time is set aside for walk-ons, as are all tee times on the top of the hour. See next paragraph on “walk-ons.”). If a golfer calls in at 10:30 a.m., the earliest same-day reservation would be 90 minutes later, or 12:10 p.m.

Walk-on times are set aside once an hour, on the hour, for twosomes, threesomes, and foursomes who do not use the Reservation System. Other unreserved times are available on a first-come first-served basis or as a same day reservation.

Whether reserving a tee time through the Reservation System or walking on, a single golfer will only be given a tee time by being paired with a twosome or threesome. Even though singles may not reserve a starting time, their names are recorded on a singles list on a first-come first-served basis. The starter’s time may then be used to allow three or four singles to tee off when they cannot otherwise be paired and scheduled.

In the event that no other golfers are available, a single walk-on may be given a tee time at the discretion of the Golf Center.

Note:

  1. Only one reservation per day per golfer
  2. Single golfers may only be paired with a twosome or threesome
  3. On the day of play, the entire group that is playing together must report to the Golf Center at least 30 minutes prior to the tee-off time in order to secure their reserved time.
  4. Any golfer in the group who has not already purchased a Golf Card must report at least 45 minutes prior to the reserved tee-off time in order to have a card processed for purchase.

5. Is there a charge for using the system?

A service fee is charged to each golfer for each round of golf when using the reserved tee time service. Monmouth County residents pay $3.00 per golfer, per round. Non-residents pay $6.00 ($3.00/Bel-Aire & Pine Brook) per golfer, per round. Walk-on golfers without a reserved tee time are not charged a service fee.

6. When is the system in operation?

The system is available 24 hours a day by calling 732-758-8383 or, by visiting
www.monmouthcountygolf.org. The service can be used to:

  1. Make a reservation
  2. Cancel a reservation
  3. Modify a reservation
  4. Review a reservation

All cancellations must be made by 7 p.m. of the day preceding the day of play. Modifications may be made up until 11:59 p.m. on the preceding day. All unreserved times are available on a first-come first-served basis or as a same day reservation. Failure to honor or cancel a tee time results in a golfer being classified as a no-show.

7.  Are Walk-On Tee Times Available?

Yes. A limited number of walk-on tee times are available each day, subject to the following regulations:

  1. Because no advance tee time reservations are accepted for Bel-Aire 9-Hole Course, walk-on times are available throughout the day on a first come, first served basis.
  2. At all other Park System courses, one (1) walk-on tee time is available on a first come, first served basis every hour on the hour after the first scheduled tee time. (For example, if the first scheduled tee time is 6:30 a.m., the first walk-on slot is 7 a.m. If the first scheduled tee time is 7 a.m., the first walk-on slot is 8 a.m.)
  3. A walk-on tee time slot can only be secured by a group of two (2) or more golfers.
    a. One (1) golfer from a twosome, threesome or foursome will purchase a greens fee ticket and select one (1) available tee time. The golfer may then leave the golf course.
    b. The other members of the group will arrive at the golf course at least 30 minutes prior to the tee time to register for play and purchase their greens fee tickets in the golf center.

8. What is a no show?

A golfer failing to honor a reservation made in his or her name through the tee time reservation service shall be designated a no-show. A no-show is anyone not canceling a reserved tee time prior to the day of play, showing up for play with fewer than the number of golfers for whom the reservation was made, or failing to personally honor a reservation made in his or her name. Currently, the park system is designating a no-show as a group who as an entire TWOSOME, THREESOME or FOURSOME fail to show or arrive later than one half hour before reserved time. The golfer who made the reservation will be taken out of the reservation system until he or she pays the no-show fee for the entire group. Calling the Golf Center to cancel a reservation on the morning of play will not exempt the golfer from a no-show penalty, unless inclement weather prevents play. The Park System reserves the right to register any golfers in the vacated time(s).

What if a group is late?
Golfers are required to check in 30 minutes prior to their tee time. Currently, the park system is designating a no-show as a group who as an entire TWOSOME, THREESOME or FOURSOME arrive later than one half hour before the reserved time. Although golf center employees will attempt to accommodate a group that arrives late by rescheduling a later tee time, the group is still responsible for its reserved tee time and subsequent no-show. The Park System reserves the right to register any golfers in the vacated time(s).

Consequence:
The golfer who made the reservation will be taken out of the reservation system until he or she pays the no-show fee for the entire group ($12.00 per player booked)

9. What happens if I don’t sign up for a Golf Card?

Any person who is either not residing in Monmouth County or decides not to sign up for a Resident/Senior Citizen/Junior Golf Card will automatically be charged non-resident greens fees.

10. Seasonal golf rates available?

The Park System does not offer seasonal golf rates (e.g. Spring/Fall rates etc). The rates stay the same from opening day through closing day for the year, except for rate reductions for Matinee play. Some courses stay open year round, weather permitting, and offer a reduced greens fee to players (both county residents and non-residents) during the winter season, December 24-mid March.

11.  Is there an age restriction to drive a power cart?

Persons under the age of 18 shall not be permitted to rent or operate power carts.

12. Do the golf courses have a rain check policy?

The Monmouth County Park System has no rain check policy. No refunds will be issued after a person hits the first ball. The only exception will be made in case the course will be closed by the Superintendent.

13. Can I bring a friend or family member with me onto the golf course?

Only people having purchased a greeens fee ticket shall be permitted on the golf course unless they are enrolled in a special event or program sponsored or approved by the Park System. (Non-players include caddies and spectators.)

14.  Do the golf courses have a dress-code?

All golfers shall be properly attired. Bathing suits, tank tops, and cut-off jeans are not permitted. Only golf shoes fitted with non-metal spikes and rubber-soled Athletic-type shoes are permitted. Shoes and shirts shall be worn at all times.
