1. How do I get a Golf I.D. Card?

To access the Automated Tee Time Reservation System, a Monmouth County Golf ID Card is required. ID cardholders can reserve tee times up to one week in advance. ID cards may be purchased at any one of the six Monmouth County Park System's golf facilities.  The cost of an annual Resident/Resident Senior Golf ID card is $36.00. The cost of a Junior County Resident and Junior Non-Resident Golf ID card is $17.00. Junior Cards are issued to individuals through the age of 20, proof of age is required. The cost of a Non-Resident reservation card and Non-Resident Senior ID card is $45.00. Senior  Golf ID Cards are available to persons age 65 or over.

The Resident ID card entitles Monmouth County golfers to resident greens fee rates and access to the Reservation System.  The Junior/Senior Golf ID card entitles the Juniors/Seniors to special weekday rates, excluding holidays, and access to the Reservation System. Please check applicable fees and charges for the individual golf courses.

To purchase a card, prospective golfers must provide valid identification. Acceptable identification for a Resident Golf ID Card is a valid New Jersey photo driver's license or a current residential property tax bill with the applicant's name and Monmouth County street address, and one of the following: a valid photo driver license, last year's Golf ID Card, a vehicle registration card, a voter registration card, or a New Jersey hunting and/or fishing license with name and street address that match first form of ID used. Utility bills, bank statements, and credit cards are not acceptable

Access to the Reservation Service by phone or internet will be immediately available after purchasing a card. Tee time reservations, Resident Golf I.D. Cards, and Non-Resident Reservation I.D. Cards are not transferable. You must purchase your card in person at any Park System golf course during the golf season. All I.D. cards expire December 31 of each year.

2.  How do I gain access to the tee time reservation system?

Automated tee time reservations and information are available by both telephone and the Internet. Call 732-758-8383 or go to www.monmouthcountygolf.org. Access to the system is included with the purchase of an annual Resident Golf I.D. Card or Non-Resident Reservation I.D. Card. Both types of cards will include the cardholder's photo and must be purchased in person at a Monmouth County Park System golf course.

The Reservation System offers a quick and easy way to reserve, review, modify, or cancel advanced reservations at Bel-Aire (18-Hole), Charleston Springs (North and South), Hominy Hill, Howell Park, Pine Brook, and Shark River Golf Courses, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Reservations are available starting at 8:00 pm seven days in advance of a desired date of play. (For example, tee times for Saturday will become available the previous Saturday at 8:00 p.m.).

All unreserved tee times become walk-on times at 12:01 a.m. the day of play. Additionally, one walk-on time per hour is set aside for those who opt not to use the Reservation System. Bel-Aire 9-Hole Course does not accept advance reservations, as it is a walk on, first-come, first-served facility.

3.  How do I make a tee time reservation?

Tee times can be reserved for all Park System Golf Courses, including Bel-Aire 18-Hole Course, by using the Tee Time Reservation System. Tee times at Bel-Aire 9-Hole Course are only available on a first come, first served, walk-on basis. Golfers can access the System by phone by calling (732) 758-8383 or, by visiting www.monmouthcountygolf.org.

4.  When can I make a reservation?

Reservations are accepted at 8pm, seven days in advance. For instance, to reserve tee times for the upcoming Saturday, golfers may begin reserving tee times at 8pm on the preceding Saturday. Note:

1. Only one reservation per day

2. Single golfers may only be paired with a twosome or threesome

3. On the day of play, the entire group that is playing together must report to the Golf Center cashier at least 30 minutes prior to the tee-off time in order to secure their reserved time.

4. Any golfer in the group who has not already purchased a Photo I.D. Card must report at least 45 minutes prior to the reserved tee-off time in order to have a card processed for purchase.

5. Is there a charge for using the system?

A service fee is charged to each golfer for each round of golf when using the reserved tee time service. Monmouth County residents pay $3.00 ($2.50/Bel-Aire & Pine Brook) per golfer, per round. Non-residents pay $6.00 ($5.00/Bel-Aire & Pine Brook) per golfer, per round. Walk-on golfers without a reserved tee time are not charged a service fee.

6. When is the system in operation?

The system is available 24 hours a day by calling (732) 758-8383 or, by visiting
www.monmouthcountygolf.org. The service can be used to:

1. Make a reservation

2. Cancel a reservation

3. Modify a reservation

4. Review a reservation

All cancellations and modifications must be made by 11:59pm of the day preceding the day of play. All remaining tee times become additional walk-on times on the day of play. Failure to honor or cancel a tee time results in a golfer being classified as a no-show.

7.  Are Walk-On Tee Times Available?

Yes. A limited number of walk-on tee times are available each day, subject to the following regulations:

1. Because no advance tee time reservations are accepted for Bel-Aire 9-Hole Course, walk-on times are available throughout the day on a first come, first served basis.

2. At all other Park System courses, one (1) walk-on tee time is available on a first come, first served basis every hour on the hour after the first scheduled tee time. (For example, if the first scheduled tee time is 6:30am, the first walk-on slot is 7am. If the first scheduled tee time is 7am, the first walk-on slot is 8am.)

3. A walk-on tee time slot can only be secured by a group of two (2) or more golfers.
a. One (1) golfer from a twosome, threesome or foursome will purchase a greens fee ticket and select one (1) available tee time. The golfer may then leave the golf course.
b. The other members of the group will arrive at the golf course at least 30 minutes prior to the tee time to register for play and purchase their greens fee tickets in the golf center.

4. Single golfers are not permitted to select an available tee time on the day of play. After purchasing their greens fee tickets, their names will be placed on a singles list. Singles will remain on standby at the course until called and assigned a time. Singles will only be placed in open spots within groups of two (2) or more.

8. What is a no show?

A golfer failing to honor an advance reservation made in his or her name is designated a No-Show. A No-Show is anyone not cancelling a reserved tee time prior to the day of play for a threesome or foursome, with no player at all showing up to play.

What if a group is late?
Golfers are required to check in 30 minutes prior to their tee time. If a group is late, it may be designated as a No-Show. Although golf center employees will attempt to accommodate a group that arrives late by rescheduling a later tee time, the group is still responsible for its reserved tee time and subsequent No-Show.

Consequence:
If an entire group for whom a reservation was made fails to show, the golfer who made the reservation will have his or her ID card privileges suspended until he or she pays the No-Show fee for the entire group ($12.00 per person).

9. What happens if I don’t sign up for a Golf ID card?

Any person who is either not residing in Monmouth County or decides not to sign up for a Resident/Resident Senior Citizen/Student Golf ID card will automatically be charged Non Resident greens fees.

10. Do the golf courses offer seasonal golf rates?

The Park System does not offer seasonal golf rates (e.g. Spring/Fall rates etc). The rates stay the same from opening day through closing day for the year, except for rate reductions for Matinee play. Shark River Golf Course and Bel Aire Golf Course stay open year round, weather permitting, and offer a reduced greens fee of $12.00 to all players (both county residents and non-residents) during the Winter season, December 24-March 14.

11.  Is there an age restriction to drive a power cart?

Persons under the age of 18 shall not be permitted to rent or operate power carts.

12. Do the golf courses have a rain check policy?

The Monmouth County Park System has no rain check policy. No refunds will be issued after a person hits the first ball. The only exception will be made in case the course will be closed by the Superintendent.

13. Can I bring a friend or family member with me onto the golf course?

Only people having purchased a greeens fee ticket shall be permitted on the golf course unless they are enrolled in a special event or program sponsored or approved by the Park System. (Non-players include caddies and spectators.)

14.  Do the golf courses have a dress-code?

All golfers shall be properly attired. Bathing suits, tank tops, and cut-off jeans are not permitted. Only golf shoes fitted with non-metal spikes and rubber-soled Athletic-type shoes are permitted. Shoes and shirts shall be worn at all times.
