Guarded Swimming at Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park
Ocean Avenue, Long Branch
Lifeguards are on duty weekends starting Saturday, May 26 until daily guarded swimming begins on Saturday, June 16. Remember – swimming is only permitted when lifeguards are present. Season beach badges for 2012 are currently available. Cash or check only, sorry no credit cards. Prices are :
- $45 for ages 13 to 16
- $65 for adults 17 to 64
- $25 for adults 65 and older
Weekday beach fees are $7.00 for individuals 18 years old and over; those 17 and under are free. On weekends and holidays, the fee is $7 for individuals 13 and over; those 12 and younger are free.
Beach badges are valid through September 3. Season parking passes are $65. The cost of a daily parking pass is $7. Beach and parking fees are charged on weekends and holidays starting Saturday, May 26 and daily from Saturday, June 16 through Monday, September 3. Both daily and seasonal beach badges are available for purchase 9:00am-4:00pm daily at the park's pavilion located on Ocean Avenue in Long Branch. For further info, call (732) 229-0924 during the beach season. Season beach badges and parking passes can be purchased at Thompson Park Headquarters weekdays between 8:30am and 4pm until June 16.
Golf
Tee off this summer at one of the Park System golf courses. Whether you’re just getting started or are an old pro, the Park System has a golf course that’s sure to be a perfect match. Choose among Bel-Aire, Wall; Charleston Springs, Millstone; Hominy Hill, Colts Neck; Howell Park, Howell; Pine Brook, Manalapan; and Shark River, Neptune. Summer Seining at Bayshore Waterfront Park
Port Monmouth Road, Port Monmouth
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, June 25 through August 24, from 11:00am-12noon
Discover fish, crabs and other critters of Sandy Hook Bay as Park System Naturalists pull a seine net through the water. Children ages 5 and up (under 18 with an adult) are invited to join help haul the net through the water. Please note that this is not a swimming program and closed-toe shoes must be worn. Boat Rentals at the Manasquan Reservoir
Windeler Road, Howell
At the Visitor Center, park patrons ages 18 and older can rent either rowboats (1-hr $11.68 or 4-hrs $32.71); electric motor powered rowboats (4-hrs $42.99); or kayaks (1-hr single person $13.32 or 1-hr double person $19.16). Cash or personal checks only. A $10.00 deposit is required for 1 hour rental; $20.00 deposit required for 4 hour rental. Motor boat rentals begin April 1st - October 31st and kayak rentals Memorial Day weekend - October 31st. (Prices do not include sales tax.)
Canoe & Paddleboat Rentals at Turkey Swamp Park
Georgia Road, Freehold
A major attraction at this park is the 17-acre lake where you can fish for bass, catfish, and bluegills either from the shore or from canoes and paddleboats (available for rental).
The cost of boat rental is as follows:
- 1 hour - $11.68 + tax
- each additional 15 minutes - $2.80 + tax
A refundable deposit of $10 is required for individual rental. Group rentals are available; deposit of $50 is required.
Canoe Rentals at Thompson ParkNewman Springs Road, Lincroft
A limited number of canoes are available first come, first served from 9am-3pm on the following dates:
- Saturday & Sunday, June 9 & 10
- Saturday & Sunday, July 7 & 8
- Saturday & Sunday, July 14 & 15
- Saturday & Sunday, August 11 & 12
- Saturday & Sunday, September 8 & 9
The fee is $15 per canoe for 2 hours. Canoes accommodate 1-3 people. All equipment provided. Cash or check only.
Boat Tours at the Manasquan Reservoir
Windeler Road, Howell
Enjoy a naturalist-led boat tour of the beautiful Manasquan Reservoir. Tours are offered on weekends and holidays through October 8 (weather permitting.) Lasting approximately 45 minutes, tours start at the top of the hour from 1-4pm and leave from the dock by the Visitor Center. Boat tours will also be offered Wednesday afternoons at 2, 3 & 4pm, July 4 through August 29. Nighttime boat tours are available the first Friday evening of each month, June through October. Please call (732) 751-9453 for Friday evening tours' times as they vary.

Each tour includes excellent opportunities to view turtles, egrets, herons, osprey, and perhaps even a bald eagle. The fee is $5.75 per adult and $3.75 per child (12 and under). For more information about the boat tours, please call (732) 751-9453.
