| Where
is the Off Leash Dog Area? |
| The
Monmouth County Park System provides an off leash dog area
at Thompson Park, 805 Newman Springs Road (Route 520), in
Lincroft. The off leash area is adjacent to the Craft Center.
You can access the area by using the park maintenance entrance,
west of the main park gate. Follow the road to the end, turn
right, and continue to the parking lot. The off leash area
is on the north side of the parking lot. |

| What
are the hours of use? |
| The
off leash area is open seven days a week from 8am to one-half
hour before dusk, the same as regular park hours. |

| How
many dogs are allowed in the area at a time? |
| No
more than 20 dogs and no more than 20 people may be inside
the fenced off leash area at one time. If owners and dogs
are waiting to use the area, please limit your use to 30 minutes. |

| How
old must my dog be to use the area? |
| A
puppy less than four months old is prohibited from using the
area. All dogs more than six months old must be spayed or
neutered. Users are responsible for the behavior and safety
of their dogs and should be considerate of other users. |

| Are
children permitted in the area? |
| Children
under 8 years of age are not permitted within the off leash
dog area. All children, 8 years of age and older, must be
closely supervised by an adult. |

| Who
cleans the area? |
| Pet
owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Park
Rangers are responsible for cutting the grass and for general
maintenance of the area. |

| What
do I need to know before my dog and I use the area? |
| Users
are allowed two dogs per person, must carry a leash for each
dog at all times, and remain with their dogs at all times.
For the safety of others, users and their dogs must abide
by county park rules. Each dog must wear a collar displaying
all licenses and have current vaccinations. |

| What
do I do if something out of the ordinary happens in the off
leash area? |
| All
incidents and injuries must be reported immediately to the
Monmouth County Park System by contacting a Park Ranger or
by calling the Park System Administrative Office (732) 842-4000
on weekdays, 8am to 4:30pm. After hours or on weekends and
holidays, all incidents should be reported to the Monmouth
County Communication Center (732) 577-8700. |
