Osprey Watch 2010

(ages 10 and up)

Nicknamed the “fish hawk,” this fun program will explain how to identify Ospreys, how they fish, where they go in the winter, and their preferred nesting sites along the Jersey Shore. Moreover, we will step outside and carpool to spy on a few actual Osprey nesting sites located near Raritan Bay with a spotting scope and binoculars. If we are lucky, we may get to see these beautiful water birds take to the air to bring food to the nest. Please dress for the weather, as we will be outdoors for a good bit of time. Remember to bring a camera and feel free to bring your own binoculars, as the naturalist will have a limited number for use.
