Folklore and Legends of Sandy Hook Bay
(ages 12 and up, under 18 with adult)
Sandy Hook Bay and nearby tidal waters are rich with folklore and stories from the legend of Captain Kidd the pirate, to rum-runners and shipwrecks, to shark attacks and creepy critters that come out from the water. Join a Park System Naturalist after dark as we enjoy the shadowy side of Sandy Hook Bay, with the lights of New York City in the background. Best of all, we will start the program with a lantern tour of the historic Seabrook-Wilson House, formerly known as the Spy House, which dates back to the early 1700s. It will be a fun time for sure! Dress for the weather and bring a flashlight.
