Folklore and Legends of Sandy Hook Bay
(ages 14 and up, with adult)
Discover the bay’s supernatural side this fall with a folklore, rumors and legends tour. This annual celebration takes guests through decades of delightfully tantalizing stories from Captain Kidd the pirate, to rum-runners and shipwrecks, to shark attacks and creepy critters that come out from the water. Best of all, we will start the program with a lantern tour of the historic Seabrook-Wilson House, formerly known as the Spy House, which dates back to the early 1700s. It will be a fun time for sure! Dress for the weather and bring a flashlight. Guests will be led by a Park System Naturalist on a fascinating, non-scary walk from the house to the beach, weather permitting.
