This is a unique and rewarding position. You will acquire a greater understanding and appreciation for environmental education, estuarine ecology, while educating the public about their local environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead an outdoor public seining program three (3) days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and a freshwater pond study program on Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Interact with the public.
- May assist with other educational programs, special events, camps, and kayak programs.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in an informal education setting and/or coursework in science education is preferred, but not necessary.
- Candidate should have a demonstrated ability in effectively communicating with others, and a strong interest in marine life.
- Must be currently be enrolled in college courses or a recent graduate (within the past 6 months).
- Enjoy working outdoors.
Dates: Early June through late August
Pay: $16.10 per hour
