Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., June 16-August 20

Pay: $14 per hour
Job Requirements:
- Must be a minimum of 19 years of age.
- Must be a licensed EMT, with at least 2 years experience as an EMT.
- Must have current certification in CPR, First Aid, Blood-Borne Pathogens, Epi-Pen Administration, and Asthma Inhaler Administration.
- Ability to give instruction to participants and staff; to enforce safety precautions; and to establish and maintain good working relationships with participants, coworkers, parents and the public.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to report to a variety of locations within the park in a prompt manner.
- Experience working with children in a community or school setting preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently in order to perform the duties of this position.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position with or without an accommodation. Demands include, but are not limited to:
- Frequent walking in a hot, humid environment.
- Long periods of standing.
- Repeated bending, crouching, stooping, stretching or reaching.
- Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds.
Job Responsibilities:
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide direct care within the scope of his/her skills and level of certification
- Collect all over-the-counter and prescription medication for the campers ensuring medication is for that camper, is the correct medication, is not expired, and the applicable forms are on file for the medication
- Supervise camper self-administration of medication
- Review health and medical forms; notify counselors and Camp Director of campers with allergies, medical restrictions, and/or special needs
- Follow up on missing or incomplete medical forms
- Maintain official medical logbooks
- Communicate with parents/guardians concerning their camper’s illness/injury or any other medical issues
- Collect medical forms from vendor camps and theatre based camps on site
- Assist vendor camps on site with sign in/sign out procedures
- Act as an additional staff member on vendor camps on site if needed
- Develop a resource file and obtain information and/or literature concerning health in the camp community
- Ensure that the leader of any group of campers traveling off camp property has copies of health forms, camper medications (if applicable), and a stocked first aid kit
- Ensure that all first aid kits in program areas are properly supplied and maintained
- Monitor and assist in maintaining health and safety practices throughout the camp area; work with staff to minimize/eliminate health and safety risks
- Prepare reports and other paperwork
- Assist with camp special events and activities as availability permits
- Other duties as assigned
