Camp Letter Summer 2020

Greetings Parents,

I am pleased to share with you that the Monmouth County Park System is moving forward with our camps this summer starting on July 6th. This letter provides an important update that explains our commitment to the health and safety of our campers and staff.

Park System staff will implement a comprehensive range of measures to meet guidelines set forth by the CDC and the American Camping Association.

The following measures will be in place for all Monmouth County Park System summer camps:

  1. Stringent cleaning and disinfecting procedures will be in place for all buildings, restrooms, and equipment. Our staff have received additional training and have been provided with a full supply of cleaning items and equipment.
  2. Campers and staff will be directed to follow sound personal hygiene practices that include frequent handwashing, maintaining personal space and prohibiting the sharing of personal items. Face coverings will be required of staff and campers in settings where social distancing cannot be reasonably maintained.
  3. Campers and staff will receive a daily health screening. The screening will include a brief parent questionnaire as well as a temperature check. A sample of this questionnaire will be posted to the “Camp Forms” section of our web site by June 15th.
  4. Campers and staff who have been out sick will require a physician’s clearance before returning to camp.
  5. Some activity schedules will be modified to reduce group sizes and enhance social distancing. Changes to camp schedules will be posted by June 5th on the “Camp Forms” section of our web site (follow the orange button in the upper right section of our homepage). You will also notice some changes to drop-off and pick-up procedures in order to provide spacing between campers, staff and parents.

If you are comfortable sending your child to camp, we will gladly welcome them and provide them with a fun, safe and memorable experience. If you decide not to send your child to camp, we respect your decision and will provide you a full refund without penalty. If you are requesting a refund, we ask that you let us know by June 15th. When requesting a refund, please e-mail your name, camp program number and permit number (from your receipt) to info@monmouthcountyparks.com.

My staff is available to answer any questions or concerns that you may have. Staff contact information is listed below. Please call or write at any time. Thank you and we hope to see you in the parks this summer!

Sincerely,
