Summer Camp Health Screening Procedure Letter

Dear Parents:

Thank you enrolling in a Monmouth County Park System summer camp. We look forward to warmly welcoming your child to the parks in the coming weeks. Please help us assure that our camp environments are healthy for all campers:

  • If your child is showing signs of illness, keep them home.
  • If your child has been ill during the two weeks prior to camp, have them evaluated by your pediatrician and provide a clearance note in order to attend camp.
  • Teach your child to sneeze into a tissue or their sleeve and to wash hands frequently at camp.
  • Make sure your child is getting enough sleep at night.
  • Make sure your child has enough water with them to stay hydrated throughout the day.

In an effort to minimize illness at camp, a daily health screening will take place when you arrive at camp. See sample of the screening form.

If any temperature or symptoms are present, your child will not be permitted to attend camp. In order to return to camp, a doctor’s note will be required. If your child is not cleared to return to camp, a refund will be issued.

I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have related to our health screening procedures.

Thank you.
