Environmental Education Internship at Southern Monmouth County Parks


Tidal Tuesdays   

Help lead a public seining program once a week at Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on Tuesdays through the summer.  Related tasks include, but are not limited to, interpreting the aquatic specimens collected during the seining program.  Assist with other programs and special events including camps, kayak programs, wildlife surveys, native gardening, bird nest monitoring, and public boat tours. 

The selected individual should expect to spend most days outside.  This position requires many interactions with the public.  This will be a unique, memorable, and highly rewarding internship.  You will acquire a greater understanding and appreciation for environmental education, estuarine ecology, and the physical work involved in educating the public about their local environment.

Hours: 10 hours per week, may include evenings and weekends.

Dates: Early June to Late August (Approximately)

Pay: $12 per hour

Location:  Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area, Manasquan & Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center, Howell

Requirements: Must be 19 years or older and currently enrolled in school or a recent graduate of a credited educational institution.
