With the return of the spring fishing season, please remember that all saltwater anglers in New Jersey need to register or re-register with the state's free saltwater fishing online registry.
A NJ State fishing license is required for all freshwater fishing (ages 16 through 69) in the Monmouth County Park System and a trout stamp is also required when fishing for trout. A license is not needed for saltwater fishing (coastal river/ocean/bay), but catches must conform to NJ State species size and number limits. A NJ State fishing license can be purchased at any local fishing supply/bait shop. For more information about fishing licenses, visit the NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife website.
Fishing licenses are NOT available for purchase at the Manasquan Reservoir.
When on the water in the parks, visitors must follow NJ State boating laws and Park System rules and regulations. This includes wearing a US Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (type I, II, III, hybrid inflatable, or V). Also, conditions at Crosswicks Creek and the Manasquan River Greenway may not always be optimal for paddling; these waters may be obstructed by fallen trees or debris.
NOTE: EXCEPT FOR THE OCEAN, GAS-POWERED MOTOR BOATS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON ANY MONMOUTH COUNTY PARK SYSTEM WATERS.
