Visitor Center - June 2009

Three years after a fire destroyed the historic mansion at Thompson Park, the new Visitor Center is now complete and open. Reconstructed with funds from an insurance settlement, the new Visitor Center was built on the building's original footprint, and retains the same general appearance. The building once again welcomes visitors to the park, offer recreation activities and host the Board of Recreation Commissioners’ monthly meetings. Operating hours for the Visitor Center are Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm and weekends 10am-4pm.
