Seeking a dynamic, dependable, and adaptable individual to lead environmental and local historical education programs including nature walks, live animal presentations, kayaking tours, seining, Lenape programs, summer camps, and nature-themed birthday parties.

Hours: March/April through November/December; approximately 15-25 hours per week; must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings.

Pay: Starting at $15.75 per hour

Location:    Based at Huber Woods Environmental Center, 25 Browns Dock Rd., Locust, NJ,  07760.  Work will take place in various Monmouth County Parks and other locations.
  

Requirements:  

  • Must be 19 years of age or older and have a valid NJ driver’s license
  • Enjoy working outdoors, in all weather conditions - most programs occur outside
  • Shine as a team player but also work well independently
  • Can communicate and engage effectively with groups of various ages, especially children. Teaching experience in a non-formal or formal setting is a plus
  • Comfortable handling and caring for live reptiles, amphibians, fish and insects
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment
  • Have an understanding and interest in local ecology and history
