Join lunar observers from around the world in a global celebration of the moon. During this time of year, the moon will be around first quarter, offering excellent viewing opportunities along the terminator (the line between night and day), where shadows enhance the moon's cratered landscape. Learn some interesting facts about the moon as we gaze upon this most familiar of celestial objects. Please dress for the weather (layers).
This event is sponsored by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mission and the Solar System Exploration Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, with many contributors. If you have binoculars please bring them; some will be available to borrow on a limited basis. FREE!
