Enjoy summer at a county park. Warm weather activities include:

Guarded Swimming

Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park
 

Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park, Long Branch       

Lifeguards are on duty weekends and holidays starting Saturday, May 26 and daily June 16 through September 3. Guarded swimming hours are from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Remember, swimming is only permitted when lifeguards are present. Park access passes for 2018 are currently available. Prices are:

  • Free for ages 17 and under
  • $70 for adults 18 to 64
  • $25 for adults 65 and older 

Daily park access passes are available and cost $8 for ages 18 years old and over.  The cost of a daily parking pass is $10. Season parking passes are $70.

Park access passes and parking passes are needed between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekends through June 10 and daily from Saturday June 16-Monday, September 3. Both daily and seasonal park access passes are available at the Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park Pavilion, Ocean Avenue, Long Branch, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekends, and daily starting June 16.

The Retail Office at Seven Presidents now accepts credit and debit cards for season park access passes. The front gate and other booths are still cash only. 

Season park access and parking passes are also available at the Monmouth County Park System Headquarters, Thompson Park, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., until June 15. 

Open Pool at the Rec Center  
Fort Monmouth Recreation Area, Tinton Falls   

 

 

Take a dip at the Fort Monmouth Recreation Area this summer. Weather permitting, the outdoor pool is open through September 3.  See the Fort Monmouth Recreation Area Calendar for Open Swim times.  An Early Bird Pool Workout will be offered from 7:30-9 a.m., Monday-Friday. Pool passes are available for purchase onsite.

Golf   

Tee off this summer at one of the Park System golf courses. Whether you’re just getting started or are an old pro, the Park System has a golf course that’s sure to be a perfect match. Choose among Bel-Aire, Wall; Charleston Springs, Millstone; Hominy Hill, Colts Neck; Howell Park, Howell; Pine Brook, Manalapan; and Shark River, Neptune. Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Discover a variety of fish, crabs and other sea creatures as we pull a seine net through the calm waters of Sandy Hook Bay. It will be a fun time for everyone as we find out what lives near the edge of Sandy Hook Bay. Closed-toe shoes are required. Meet on the beach near the park entrance. The program will not run during inclement weather. Parents or guardians are required to stay with and supervise their children. No swimming during the event. FREE!

Boat Rentals  

 

Boat rentals are available at the Manasquan Reservoir, Howell; Turkey Swamp Park, Freehold; and on select weekends in Thompson Park, Lincroft.  Find out more

Boat Tours

These 45-minute tours of the Manasquan Reservoir, Howell, are narrated by Park System Naturalists and include opportunities to view local wildlife including turtles, egrets, herons, ospreys and perhaps a bald eagle. Life-jackets are required. The cost is $6 per adult and $4 per child, 12 and under. Please call 732-751-9453 to confirm schedule as tours are both weather and water level dependent. All tours leave from the Visitor Center. The schedule is as follows:
