Water Safety Tips:
  • Learn to Swim: Swim lessons significantly reduce drowning risk, especially for children. Visit our Programs & Registration page for a listing of our swim lessons starting May 8; registration starts May 13.
  • Supervise Actively: Maintain constant, undistracted supervision near all water areas.
  • Wear Life Jackets: Always use U.S. Coast Guard-approved jackets for boating and water sports.
  • Reach, Throw, Don’t Go: Throw a rescue device; only enter water if trained.
  • Know Your Surroundings: Observe safety signs and water conditions in pools, lakes, oceans, and rivers.
