Water Safety Tips:
- Learn to Swim: Swim lessons significantly reduce drowning risk, especially for children. Visit our Programs & Registration page for a listing of our swim lessons starting May 8; registration starts May 13.
- Supervise Actively: Maintain constant, undistracted supervision near all water areas.
- Wear Life Jackets: Always use U.S. Coast Guard-approved jackets for boating and water sports.
- Reach, Throw, Don’t Go: Throw a rescue device; only enter water if trained.
- Know Your Surroundings: Observe safety signs and water conditions in pools, lakes, oceans, and rivers.
Lifeguards are on duty:
Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park, Long Branch
Weekends May 23-June 7 and daily June 13-September 7; weather and conditions permitting.
Swimming is NOT permitted unless lifeguards are on duty.
Fort Monmouth Recreation Area, Tinton Falls
Pool season runs Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day.
Big Brook Park, Marlboro
Saturdays, July 11-August 15
Please note that swimming is only allowed in these designated areas and only when lifeguards are present, and weather and conditions are permitting.
Sprayground
The Sprayground is a great place to cool off and play with water. This water-enhanced playground underwent a major renovation several years ago. Individuals and families are welcome. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Group outings are not permitted. The Sprayground is open from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day, weather and conditions permitting.
