Work within the beautiful scenery of your Monmouth County Parks! Lifeguards maintain a safe environment through enforcement of pool rules and regulations; chemical testing and tracking of results; inspecting the facility; and reporting unsafe conditions. The outdoor pools at Fort Monmouth are open for Monmouth County Park System camps, reserved groups, lap swim, and open swim. The outdoor pools at Dorbrook Recreation Area, Colts Neck are open for Monmouth County Park System camps, swim lessons, and birthday parties. The outdoor pool at Big Brook is open for Monmouth County Park System summer camps, reserved groups, swim lessons, and family swim.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be 15 years or older.
- Certification in Lifeguard Training required or currently enrolled in a lifeguard course
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid certifications required
- Be able to swim with proficiency and endurance.
Not certified? Come for an interview and enroll in a lifeguarding course. We will reimburse you at the end of the summer for the Lifeguard course if you pass and work for us the entire summer.
Pay: Starting at $17.
Hours: Flexible hours up to 35 hours per week, June 1-Aug. 24, some evenings and weekends

Lifeguards hired primarily at Dorbrook Recreation Area and lifeguards hired primarily at Fort Monmouth Recreation Area will be scheduled to work some shifts as needed at both Fort Monmouth Recreation Area, Tinton Falls, and Dorbrook Recreation Area, Colts Neck.
Hours: flexible, up to 30-35 hours per week, June 15-August 31, weekdays , some evenings, and some weekends
