
Seeking a dynamic, dependable, and adaptable individual to lead environmental and local historical education programs including summer camps, live animal presentations, kayaking tours, seining, native peoples programs, and nature-themed birthday parties.
Hours: March/April through November/December. 10 to 35 hours per week, must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings.
Pay: Starting at $16.10 per hour
Location: Based at Huber Woods Environmental Center, 25 Browns Dock Rd., Locust, NJ, 07760. Work will take place in various Monmouth County Parks and other locations.
Qualifications:
- Must be in possession of a valid NJ driver’s license and 19 years or older
- Enjoys working outdoors, in all weather conditions - most programs occur outside
- Is able to work on a team and independently
- Can communicate and engage effectively with groups of various ages, especially children. Teaching experience in a non-formal or formal setting is a plus
- Is comfortable handling and caring for live reptiles, amphibians, fish, and insects
- Has the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment like kayaks
- Has an understanding and interest in local ecology and history
