Environmental Education Specialist - Bayshore Waterfront Park

To lead a public seining program three (3) days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and a freshwater pond study program on Thursday mornings from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The selected individual should expect to spend most days outside. This position interacts in many ways with the public. This will be a unique, memorable and highly rewarding experience. You will acquire a greater understanding and appreciation for environmental education, estuarine ecology, and for the physical work involved in educating the public about their local environment. In addition, you may assist with other education programs, special events, camps, and kayak programs.

Qualifications: Experience working in an informal education setting and/or coursework in science education is preferred, but not necessary. Candidate should have a demonstrated ability in effectively communicating with others, and a strong interest in marine life. Must be currently be enrolled in college courses or a recent graduate (within the past 6 months). 

Dates: Early June to late August (approximately)

Type:  $14.75 per hour 

Location: Bayshore Waterfront Park, Port Monmouth
