Portland Place overlooks the Navesink River in Hartshorne Woods Park and was owned by the Hartshorne family for much of its long history. The restored 18th century house, furnishings, art, and exhibits help tell the story of the region’s early history and the Hartshorne family legacy in Monmouth County. Portland Place is on the National and State Registries of Historic Places.
