Camp Counselor

Camp Counselor at Big Brook Park, Marlboro  

Camp counselors are responsible for working with two or more staff members to facilitate and run pre-planned activities for groups of children ages 8-14 years of age. Activities include crafts, sports, fossiling, biking, rock climbing and more.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., may include overnights and weekends, June-August

Pay: Starting - $12 per hour; depending on experience

Requirements: Must be 17 years of age or older with a valid NJ driver’s license. Must attend pre-camp training in June. Must be comfortable working outdoors, in all weather conditions. Must have the ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision. Must have excellent communication skills with children and adults. Experience working with children is a plus. Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment. Must have interest in/ or knowledge of activities offered.

 

General Day Camp Counselor at Dorbrook Recreation Area, Colts Neck   

We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible, creative individuals to lead our General Day Camps. Counselors will plan and instruct unique camp activities including indoor/outdoor games and daily crafts. Staff will also be responsible for pool time supervision. Strong candidates will demonstrate punctuality, responsibility and an interest in working with children ages Pre-K through 7th grade with an emphasis on camper safety. Hours: June through August; 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or as assigned

Pay: $12 per hour

Location: Dorbrook Recreation Area, Colts Neck; other areas as assigned

Camp Counselor at the Fort Monmouth Recreation Center, Tinton Falls   

Plan, set up and run activities, including sports, games, science, nature, camp events, theme camps, and more.  Staff is involved in every activity, leading and encouraging campers, and supporting the craft instructor during craft time. At drop off and pick up, meet and greet parents and campers, relaying any information parents need to know. Staff is assigned to before and after camp care on a rotating basis. Be part of our stellar team and help us give campers a summer to remember!  Our camp activities rotate between indoor and outdoor spaces including our gym, fields, outdoor pool, Games Lobby, and classrooms. Staff training and summer preparation begin June 1. Camps run weekly from June 21-August 27.
