Open to ages 11 and up, under 18 with adult.

Join us for an early celebration of the International Observe the Moon Night (IOMN) as lunar observers from around the world celebrate the moon. The moon will be close to first quarter phase and almost 88% illuminated. These conditions create excellent viewing opportunities along the terminator (the line between night and day), where shadows enhance the moon's cratered landscape. Learn interesting facts about the moon as we gaze upon this most familiar of celestial objects. Please dress for the weather (layers). If you have binoculars please bring them; a limited number will be available to borrow. FREE!

IOMN is sponsored by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mission and the Solar System Exploration Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, with many contributors worldwide.
