Park opens at 7 a.m. daily, year round.
Closing time is 7 p.m. through November 2; 5:30 p.m. November 3-January 14; and 6 p.m. January 15-February 11.
Over 526 acres along the Manasquan River have been acquired by the Park System and are now protected in their natural state. This preserved open space provides river access for fishermen and boaters with canoes and other small watercrafts. Please be aware that navigating sections of the river may be challenging and/or require numerous portages due to natural obstructions and fluctuating water levels.
Winter Run Activity Center
The Park System recently opened the Winter Run Activity Center for use as a center for 4-H club activities and events as well as Park System programs. Formerly horse stables and tack room, the interior space was reconfigured and renovated. Updates include a dedicated program space, public restrooms, accessibility improvements, and new roof and siding.
River access, including fishing, is available from these locations in Howell:
Southard Avenue
Route 9 to Route 524 East. Follow approximately 6 miles to intersections with Southard Avenue. Turn right and follow Southard Avenue 2 miles. Parking lot is on right.
West Farms Road
Route 9 to Route 524 East. Follow approximately 4 miles. Turn right onto West Farms Road. Continue approximately 2 miles. Parking lot is on left.
Ketcham Road
Route 9 to Route 524 East. Follow approximately 3 miles. Turn right onto Ketcham Road. Continue 1/2 mile. Parking lot is on right.
Haven Bridge Road
Route 9 to Route 524 East. Follow approximately 2 miles. Turn right onto Haven Bridge Road. Continue 1 miles. Parking lot is on right.
In accordance with New Jersey’s Smoke Free Air Act, all Monmouth County parks are tobacco free. The ban applies to cigarettes, pipes, cigars, e-cigarettes, and vaporize cigarettes, as well as smokeless tobacco such as snuff and chew.
